New great opportunity for the young Russian driver, who will have the Ford Fiesta at his disposal at the next round of the world rally, already thinking about 2022.
Reggio Emilia, August 26th – 2021
New and exciting “world champion” dynamics for Movisport, with prospects for further great sporting and technical growth. Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov, at the next Acropolis rally in Greece, ninth round of the World Rally Championship (9-12 September) will get off the usual VolksWagen Polo GTi R5 to get on a Ford Fiesta R5 of the official M-Sport Team.
It is an important opportunity for the young Russian rally driver to make the leap in quality and present himself at the top in view of the 2022 season, a reason for technical and sporting growth that therefore looks to the horizon. The binding reason for the choice to change the car during construction is the fact that for the current car, the VolksWagen Polo R5, no further development steps are foreseen to be able to design a long-term program.
The driver himself explains it:
“We got to the point where we had to decide which direction to take for 2022 and beyond. Given that the Polo R5 will be a car that will have no future development, we have decided to change for the next few years. One of our options was to continue with the Ford Fiesta and when the opportunity came we took advantage of it immediately. I really liked the performance of the car on gravel and also on asphalt. M-Sport will provide us with the car, we will be “under their wings” in Greece but still as competitors of Movisport. It will be a demanding experience as the car will certainly be and the race will also be new for me, but I am ready and I can’t wait to be fighting with the other drivers, who are very fast! ”.
Satisfaction also on the part of Movisport, which believes in the value of the rider. This was stated by Zelindo Melegari, of the management of the Reggio association:
“We consider Gryazin one of the best young players in the world, our work alongside him is given by this first factor. Young, professional, with a lot of quicksilver on him and a lot of verve, which maybe he has to tame a little and is also good at communicating and communicating. Technically, he has great speed, certainly the opportunity that has come to him must be exploited to the best possible extent, because it is a train that does not pass for everyone. And we are happy to support him ”.
