The Russian Nikolay Gryazin and Enrico Brazzoli from Cuneo gave the Reggio team the coveted world title on the last available opportunity of the Forum8 Aci Rally Monza
Monza (MB), November the 21th – 2021
It is apotheosis. Movisport is in triumph, for the victory of the world title for teams in the WRC-2, obtained today at the last available opportunity of the Forum8 Aci Rally Monza, the closing race of the 2021 world rally championship.
Two were designated to lead the points, the Russian Nikolay Gryazin with his co-driver Konstantin Aleksandrov, and the Cuneo-based Enrico Brazzoli, paired with Manuel Fenoli, both with a Skoda Fabia Evo. The mission was to try to fight as much as possible the direct opponents, the Turks of Tok Sport and everything went to fit together in the right dimension, allowing the Reggio team to soar on the roof of the world. In the end, after three exhausting days of racing, Gryazin finished leading the category and Brazzoli third, finishing Movisport with 227, against 216 of the competitors.
Gryazin, and also Brazzoli despite having been stopped since June, have therefore given their substantial contribution to the conquest of the title, which certainly gives prestige to the national road racing sector. A very high value on the part of the team, which this year has already won the Italian title with Giandomenico Basso as well as yet another cup for the Scuderie, again in the top series of national rallies.
“An indescribable joy – commented Zelindo Melegari, of the Movisport management from the Monza paddock – we managed to raise the Italian flag in a world championship competition and this fills us with pride. Pride because we have been able to choose the opportunities well during the long championship season, for which we thank all those who made it possible to achieve this significant result, from the crews to the partners who supported us! ”.
A result that would not have been possible without the victories and points brought by other 3 absolute protagonists such as Esapekka Lappi, Teemu Suninen and Erik Cais! A huge thank you today goes to them too!
